Delivered (pt 2)

Posted on | May 27, 2010 | Comments Off

She was furious. She was now up to three (yes “3″) missing packages. Where do these things go when they say they are delivered but they aren’t? Was someone using her soap, wearing her necklace and reading her books? Was it the mail carrier or some lucky resident of her town who happened to have the items delivered to him/her because someone couldn’t read the address? Was this some dishonest individual who tore open the package and then realized it wasn’t for them but didn’t have the decency to hand it back over to the post office? Or was it stolen by some greater force? Lost to perhaps send a message, that the online shopping had gotten out of hand and it was time to stop. Maybe this was a sign.

She had called the post office 800 number and filed her complaints but suspected that they wouldn’t be able to recover the packages. Whatever fate they met, it was out of the post office’s hands. After all, they were scanned “delivered” so they were delivered. (ha!) Where they were delivered was the question. Now she couldn’t even order a $20 item without requesting a signature confirmation or insurance. That isn’t how things should be. She was angry. She didn’t need this crap. She had enough to worry about.

She took a pill to calm herself down before she went completely postal herself. So sad she had to rely on pharmaceutical help. Oh well. She wasn’t the only one in the world who did so. And besides, a calm zombiegirl was a happy zombiegirl. Ok so maybe she wasn’t going to be happy but at least she was calm. Well, she would be if the pill worked. If she let it work. If she didn’t get so worked up before it worked that it wouldn’t work. Wow she really needed to relax. Would have been nice to have the books she ordered. . .
